Critical Care Unit

The Nepean Private Critical Care Service provides care to critically ill patients with a wide range of conditions.

Our 12 patient-bed Critical Care Unit consists of two Level 1 ICU beds and 10 HDU beds, this unit specialises in supporting acute surgical and medical patients.

The Critical Care Unit is supported by the latest medical equipment, 24 hour Intensivist support and highly experienced nursing staff.

Nursing care across the Critical Care Unit is provided by nurses with, or working toward, post-graduate qualifications in intensive care and/or coronary care nursing.

The critical care nursing team and the in-house medical officer provide expert outreach support to the facility via Rapid Response Team calls.

This team is called to patients who are displaying signs of clinical deterioration; the team can provide appropriate assessment, intervention and escalation of care as required.
